With an obsessive commitment to the million details and a spirit of generosity underpinning everything we do, every job role of more than 30 hours per week, can potentially be an Apprentice role. Whether in the spa, as a therapist, a housekeeper, hall porter, waiter or receptionist, you could be in reservations, maintenance or behind the bar! Being an Apprentice at Lime Wood Hotel or the Herb House Spa, puts you on a Lime Wood Path with our partner Umbrella Training, a leading UK nationwide training and apprenticeship provider working closely with the hospitality sector. Taking an apprenticeship is a fun and engaging way to gain qualifications whilst at work.

You’ll be working in an environment where we take what we do really seriously but we don’t take ourselves too seriously and our focus every day is to create unique, bespoke hospitality experiences for all our amazing guests.

The Qualification bit

We partner with Umbrella Training to host our apprenticeship programmes. You’ll be part of a group of like minded colleagues who want to learn all things hospitality in an award winning, 5 red star hotel and spa.

Each apprenticeship level is about a year long and you’ll be assigned a learning leader who provides a training day once a month consisting of specialised training to hone your hospitality supervisory, management and leadership skills.

Individual 1-2-1 mentoring sessions guide you through the qualification, with regular visits and observations by your own leader. You’ll complete assignments and update your portfolio on an online tracking system called BUD. You can upload your work with the help of the team, from Level 2 to Level 6 there’s something for everyone.

The Fun Bit!

It’s not all hard graft! You’ll also get to experience all the things that make Lime Wood unique such as guest chef pop-ups with the likes of Angela Hartnett you’ll be part of making amazing events happen such as Smoked and Uncut and exclusive parties and weddings. You can observe our bee keeper, spend time in the greenhouse, and head out on trips and visits.

Getting Out and About

We love the New Forest, but we like to get out and about a bit too. We visit suppliers and partners and our apprentices go to fancy awards do’s, industry shows like The Independent Hotel show and even the Hotel Housekeeping Show – and did we mention that we absolutely encourage you to attend events such as London Wine Fair and London Cocktail week.
