Hours: Full Time

Salary: £24636.15 - £26841.67 plus service charge

We are currently looking for a passionate Trainee Sommelier to join our Wine Team at our award-winning hotel, Lime Wood.

At Lime Wood, we offer an extensive wine list to our guests, from wines across the world, local British produce to our very own offering. We have a large traditional vaulted ceiling wine cellar, a real treat for any prospective Sommelier. We are proud of our extensive wine list that has been many years in the making which has previously been awarded the Tattinger Wine List of the Year and the most Innovative and exciting wine List at Conde Nast Johansens Awards.

About the role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Working the restaurant floor, pouring wines, and providing recommendation as/ when capable.
  • Keep and up to date knowledge of our wine list.
  • Develop the confidence to up sale and pair wines with our restaurant dishes.
  • Assist with maintaining the cellar, stock management and supplier relationships.
  • Collaboratively work with our Food & Beverage team in delivering a well-rounded food & beverage service to our guests.
  • Have a genuine passion towards wines. Seek to upskill and enrol of recognised qualifications.
  • Ensure food handling and safety measures and met and compliant.


Previous experience within a food & beverage service role is beneficial. We are seeking for someone who is passionate about wine and dedicate to providing a detailed service to our guests. Completion of recognised study in wine and spirits is advantageous. In turn we will provide you with any further qualifications that might be required for your own personal development.
