A Hero’s tale

I have been working for the company now for 7 years and in this time I have been promoted 5 times. I started as a Room Attendant and can still remember my first day – I couldn’t speak much English so Lime Wood helped me and hired an English teacher. In 2015 I became Senior Room Attendant, I came to the role and excelled but didn’t want to stop there I worked hard and in 2017 I became Assistant Housekeeper. I have learnt so much and feel very proud of what I have achieved all through the support of the Lime Wood team.

Day to Day Life

Working in this hotel we have friendly and familiar atmosphere, everyone knows everyone, we all work together and help each other. Sometimes you get the chance to see lots of well-known faces, I like to see our returning guests as they recognise you it’s a great feeling when you have created a good relationship with the regulars. We all get the chance to do cross training so we can learn about the other departments which makes us the great team we are.

I love my job because…

No day is ever the same. Each day I am presented with new challenges and situations, which really helps me to stay focused and interested in my job. I also enjoy being able to be as creative as I can and to come up with new ways to delight our guests.

Front of House Manager at Lime Wood

A Hero’s tale

I currently hold the role of Front of House Manager across the Hotel and Spa. This role is crucial to supporting the day to day running of all Front of House function primarily focusing on the Reception and House Keeping teams. I work very closely with both teams to ensure that all members of staff feel strongly motivated in order to deliver the very best level of service possible. 

Day to Day Life

Every day is different and this is why I love my job. One of my key responsibilities is ensuring that all teams are fully informed and supported for the day ahead and I work closely with each department in order to achieve this. I have a fantastic Reception team and I absolutely love working alongside them. 

One moment, I may be on the Front desk, the next I am rolling towels supporting the Housekeeping team and then clearing tables in order to assist our F&B team. I love the variety that my role demands and the abundance of different personalities that I work with both in terms of staff and guests.

I work alongside a fantastic team who fully understand the importance of their roles whilst maintaining a fun and welcoming atmosphere. 

I love the variety of clients we work with and feel very proud to welcome them into the impressive facilities at Lime Wood and the Herb House. As a team we feel very fortunate to work in such an environment and everyone is very passionate about delivering the very best service.
